About the Program

The Freshman Program aims primarily at students holding a High School Certificate following a Non-Lebanese Baccalaureate Program, based on 12 year of education starting with Grade I (Requirements for Admission). Holders of the Lebanese Baccalaureate or its equivalent may not apply for admission to the Freshman class (Program Specifications).

The curriculum for the Freshman Program at UOB was first issued in January 2003 and the courses designed were carefully chosen in accordance with the Rules and Regulations set by the Lebanese Ministry of Education (Course Description).  The Freshman Program provides students with a highly structured and challenging curriculum that focuses, through proper advising, on building basic skills necessary for enrolment in the desired undergraduate programs of the University at the Sophomore level or in any university that follows the American educational system (Application Form).
The academic and social outcomes of this first-year learning opportunity are further enhanced by the diverse national and international backgrounds of the students enrolled in the Freshman Program.
Upon the Successful completion of the Freshman Year, students will apply for the sophomore year in the desired undergraduate program (Promotion to the Sophomore Class).

N.B: Students may receive transfer credits towards the freshman year upon successful completion of advanced exams/courses.
