Message from the Dean

Dean Antoine Gergess     It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to work with students outside the classroom on extra-curricular programs. As you are usually immersed in class work, it is
my job to work closely with you on developing programs and activities that are intended
to improve the quality of life at the University and to meet the University's goal of total student development.

The office of Student Affairs, located in Room 118 of the Zakhem Building is available to
all students. The mission of Student Affairs is to foster student success and a university community. As Dean of Student Affairs,  I oversee all programs related to students, along
with coordinators and assistants who work closely with me to ensure that the needs of students are being met. We provide support for a variety of student concerns (counseling, financial difficulties, academic trouble, and other personal emergencies).

Social life on this campus located in a rural area is shaped by you. You can truly make a difference by getting involved and staying active with campus and community entities by donating just a few hours of your busy schedule. You can: 1) join/initiate clubs and societies, 2) join athletic teams and the variety of sports programs offered, 3) create awareness and 4) participate in community service.

We welcome you to the University of Balamand and we look forward to sharing in all your curricular and extra-curricular successes.

Sincerely,
Antoine N. Gergess, PhD, PE, F.ASCE
Dean of Student Affairs and Professor in the Faculty of Engineering
