Judy Dankar, graduate student at the University of Balamand (UOB) Department of Chemical Engineering, has been named as one of the best speakers at the XVI International Forum-Contest of Students and Young Scientists entitled: " Topical Issues of Rational Use of Natural Resources”. The conference that was held virtually under the Auspices of UNESCO and was organized by Saint Petersburg Mining University in Russia and the International Competence Center for Mining Engineering Education. The conference was held between June 17 and 19, 2020.

Judy was one of three University of Balamand engineering students that were nominated to take part in this prestigious conference. Judy presented her research, “Production of COx-Free Hydrogen from Natural Gas On Ordered Fe/Al2O3 Mesoporous Catalysts”, that was completed at UOB under the supervision of Dr. Nissrine El Hassan and Dr. Karam Jabbour in collaboration with Dr. Julien Reboul and Dr. Pascale Massiani from the Sorbonne University in France.

Upon receiving the news, Vice President for Internationalization and Engagement and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Rami Abboud congratulated Judy and her supervisors on this achievement. “This tremendous accolade simply shows the high standard of research undertaken at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Balamand in partnership with leading international institutes. The dedication, innovation, and commitment to excellence that we embrace as major values in our faculty are paying off at major international conferences.” he said.
