PhD Student - Hayman Saddik

​Hayman Saddik has successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Physical Education entitled “La densité minérale osseuse chez les sujets âgés ayant un faible indice de masse musculaire squelettique :



Relations avec les caractéristiques anthropométriques et les indices de force musculaire”. The dissertation was prepared under the co-tutorship agreement between the University of Balamand and the University of Orléans, France.

It was supervised by Dr. Rawad El Hage, Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Balamand and Dr. Hechmi Toumi - University of Orléans.



Based on Hayman’s research, three articles were published in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. El Hage stated that he is very satisfied with the results of Dr. Saddik’s research, which underlined the need to implement strategies to increase maximal strength and muscle mass in order to prevent osteoporosis in elderly subjects with low skeletal muscle mass index.



In addition, this PhD dissertation demonstrates that sarcopenia is negatively associated with bone health parameters in the elderly Lebanese population.
