UOB Launches its Christmas Village in Festive Spirit

UOB Launches its Christmas Village in Festive Spirit

On December 15, 2022, the UOB Christmas Village was set in motion at the University of Balamand’s main campus in Koura, marking its second run in 2 years. The Christmas Village’s festivities were inaugurated by lighting the Christmas tree in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch John X, members of the University’s Board of Trustees, and the President of the University of Balamand Dr. Elias Warrak, in addition to a crowd of enthusiastic visitors and a number of students and families.

The UOB Christmas Village is packed with holiday fun, featuring a wide range of Christmas activities for all ages. From musical programs and daily entertainment shows for children to games, cartoon characters, gifts, and even Santa Claus appearances. It bears mentioning that throughout the 7 days of the event, a Christmas Market will be carried out every day, with the participation of many small businesses and local shops, that offer a supply of various handicrafts, relishing food, and other products. This stems from the university’s dedicated efforts to supporting local businesses and helping the region flourish.

In accordance with the university’s commitment to spreading the Christmas spirit to all, it should be noted that all the activities and programs at the UOB Christmas village are free of charge.

The university was adorned with beautiful, unique decorations and lights this year, including a stunning Christmas tree bursting with colorful, festive lights. These decorations were the result of a collaborative effort between the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts Alba-Koura and students, who worked together to design and implement them.

Additionally, UOB clubs worked on organizing a variety of events to bring a joyous atmosphere to the community. These events will include shows, musical performances, and daily screenings of Christmas movies at the UOB Christmas village. The World Cup finals will also be screened at the village, creating a fun and entertaining atmosphere.

According to Dr. Warak, the importance of organizing this Christmas event cannot be overstated: "At UOB, we are dedicated to bringing joy to the community, even in the face of challenges. Everyone deserves to celebrate the holiday season, and we are determined to do so now more than ever. UOB is opening its doors to all members of the community to come together and hope for better days.”

The UOB Christmas village will be held from December 15th to 22nd, with doors opening at 4:00 pm daily.
