Reviving Traditional Mashahir at the University of Balamand

Hosted by the Department of Archaeology and Museology at the University of Balamand, the "Black is Back" exhibition took place on December 20, 2022 at the Ethnography Museum, as part of the Christmas village festivities.

The exhibition provided an in-depth look at the process of making charcoal using traditional methods and grills. Visitors can learn about it through pictures, videos, and texts, as well as participate in handicraft activities for children in a Christmas atmosphere. The aim of the exhibition is to document the process of making charcoal, as well as introduce visitors to part of the Lebanese traditions and rural heritage.
