Towards a better assessment and management of wildfire risk in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) in Lebanon: gaining from the US experience



Overall Objective
Investigate the feasibility of developing a wildfire-climate model for Lebanon that stimulates the interactions among climate change, expansion of human development into wildland areas, and wildfire risk in the WUI.

Specific Objectives
To assess fire risk in Lebanon under current and future environmental conditions and provide tools for improved fire risk management.

Expected Outputs
Guidelines and tools for improved fire risk management.

National and local authorities, forest managers, decision-makers, policy developers, practitioners, students.
