Learning Objectives
The Professional Internship allows students to:
-
- Experience real-time operational settings, function as a member of a team and appreciate dynamics within the context of their host organization.
-
- Be exposed to tasks and activities performed by practitioners involved in budgeting, finance, human resources, and marketing in laboratory management settings.
-
- Be exposed to decision-making and administrative processes and develop interpersonal skills.
-
- Expand their professional and social networks and develop more evident perspectives of their needs, interests, and concerns.
After Graduation
A career in Medical Laboratory Sciences combines an aptitude for science with the desire to help others. Laboratory scientists are highly skilled professionals who can begin their professional careers working in a medical laboratory, in acute care, or community hospitals, or in pharmacy and pharmaceutical industries.
Experienced Laboratory Sciences graduates have many career options. This includes clinics, private laboratories, research laboratories, public health agencies, and NGOs. Positions within the biomedical and pharmaceutical industries are also an option.
Our highly competitive graduates can apply for a Master’s program (graduate studies). Graduates can also pursue higher education in medicine, clinical laboratory sciences, public health or graduate studies in biomedical sciences or related disciplines.
