THM Organizes its First Cooking Masterclass

The School of Tourism and Hotel Management (THM) at the University of Balamand (UOB) organized its first Cooking Masterclass on 20 – 21 April 2024, hosted in THM kitchen. Open to the Balamand community, the masterclass featured an array of International cuisine, showcasing a variety of worldwide delightful dishes including European and Brazilian culinary traditions.

Led by Executive Chef Georges Soueid, who brings over 20 years of culinary expertise and has worked in renowned establishments, the program delved into the essence of cooking philosophy, artistic creations, and a great sense of taste.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in tasting sessions and receive one-on-one mentoring from Chef Soueid. The masterclass aimed to explore a unique fusion-style dishes, quirky blending of flavors, and culinary cultures, presenting cooking as an art​ form.

It is worth to highlight the strong collaboration between THM and local hospitality businesses, aligning with UOB's sustainability vision and commitment to supporting the local community, such as 3al Tareek (Tripoli and Amioun), Bistr’eau (Batroun), The Pines (Kfarhazir), Vienna 1683 Coffeehouse(Tripoli), Swizore (Kaftoun), Bel Kalaa (Amioun), Octagon (Kfarhazir), and Blackhorse (Amioun).

Overall, the Cooking Masterclass at THM was a testament to the THM's dedication to culinary excellence and fostering a deep appreciation for the art of cooking among its students and the broader community.
