Mission
The mission of the Pathology Residency Program is to produce clinical pathologists with a strong knowledge base and critical analysis skills in preparation for private practice or an academic career in Pathology.
Objectives
The goal of the Pathology Residency Program is to provide residents with a solid foundation for the understanding of pathophysiology and human disease processes.
Program Learning Outcomes
By the end of their training, residents are expected to:
- Acquire the technical skills necessary for the practice of clinical pathology.
- Write Pathology reports.
- Acquire problem solving and critical analysis skills fundamental for the practice of Pathology.
- Formulate a diagnosis or differential diagnosis.
- Screen gynecologic smears and sign up negative pap smears.
- Direct Pathology technicians.
- Participate in Departmental Pathology Conferences.
- Practice continuous self-education.
