History and Evolution

Established in the year 2000 in association with the Saint George Hospital University Medical Center, The Faculty of Medicine has amassed sizeable influence over the years, earning itself national acclaim. The Medical School started operating with a total of 25 students and a handful of faculty members. Today it welcomes 150 students yearly, with more than 800 graduates around the world, attaining the highest of ranks.

The FOM was the first and only medical school outside of the capital Beirut. Its main campus in Koura accommodates one of the only two cadaveric dissection labs for gross anatomy in Lebanon.

The four-year MD Program consists of two pre-clinical years spent on the main koura campus, and two clinical years at Saint George University Medical Center in Beirut and others. In Total, The Faculty of Medicine is affiliated with 5 hospitals, taking its students and residents in, all over Lebanon.
