Diagnostic Radiology

Mission
The mission of the Radiology Residency Program is to produce competent radiologists that function as consultants in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology modalities to referring physicians or Radiology experts in an academic setting.

Objectives
The Radiology Residency Program aims to prepare residents that fulfill the following competencies in medical education:
  • - Medical knowledge:
    Residents will acquire an understanding of the role of diagnostic radiology in relevance to other medical disciplines.
  • - Patient care:
    Residents will provide patient care through safe, efficient, appropriately utilized, quality-controlled diagnostic or interventional radiology techniques.
  • - Interpersonal and communication skills :
    Residents will practice effective communication with patients, referring physicians, and health professionals in the patient care team.
  • - Practice-based learning and improvement:
    Residents will analyze and evaluate their own practices and incorporate scientific evidence in patient care.
  • - System-based practice:
    Residents will demonstrate an understanding how different practice systems function to deliver patient care.
  • - Professionalism :
    Residents will demonstrate a commitment to their professional duties.
Program Learning Outcomes
By the end of their training, residents are expected to:
  1. Acquire the fundamental principles of diagnostic radiology.
  2. Develop a strong knowledge base in different radiology techniques.
  3. Identify and evaluate the diagnostic imaging modalities that assist in making a clinical or surgical diagnosis.
  4. Assess and manage patients undergoing diagnostic radiology.
  5. Interpret Radiology findings in the context of clinical presentations.
  6. Participate in Radiology Conferences.
  7. Practice continuous self-education.
