Quality Management and Patient Safety



The participants may be leadership, administrative, clinical, paramedical staff and quality professionals who will be contributing to the development of quality care processes, a risk management program and the culture of safety in the organization, as well as supporting the journey to accreditation.

Overall objectives of the program will be to prepare the participant to:

  • • Drive organizational change to improve the culture of quality and safety
  • • Utilize performance improvement methods
  • • Transform data into information through the use of data analytics
  • • Implement strategies to improve patient safety
  • • Identify and manage risks through strong mitigation strategies

Upon successful completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

  • • Understand the purpose for performance measurement
  • • Understand when and why performance measurement is important
  • • Understand how to distinguish performance measurement from incident measurement
  • • Understand the framework for performance measurement
  • • Learn how to select measures and improvement projects
  • • Understand concepts of prioritization
  • • Understand qualitative and quantitative prioritization methods
  • • Understand how to apply prioritization methods to select performance measures
  • • Understand use of clinical value compass in selecting measures related to clinical guidelines
  • • Describe and how to collect Performance Measure data




 





45 HOURS PER COURSE


30 hrs face time with JCI Faculty,
12 hrs self-paced learning,
3 hrs final exam
