Staff Qualification and Education
Target audience is hospital administrators, senior leaders, managers, Medical Directors, Human Resources managers, quality directors.
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:
• Develop staffing plan by using a recognized method
• Learn the tactics to monitors the effectiveness of staffing plan
• To understand the best practices for the development of Job descriptions
• Design orientation programs (Hospital wide, departmental and orientation to the job)
• Design evaluation mechanisms prior starting to work independently
• Develop Occupational health and safety programs
• Understand the importance of Primary Source verification process
• Develop a framework for delineation of privileges of medical staff
• Understand the importance and various mechanisms for Primary Source Verification for Medical, Nursing and Allied health
The course content will include:
• Planning related to Staff Qualification and Education including identification of desired education level, skills, knowledge and other requirements.
• Recruitment process and how to ensure that staff knowledge and skills is consistent with patient needs, hospital needs and requirements of the position.
• Development of Staffing strategy based on recognized methods and define the review process of the staffing plan
• Probation evaluation process and build competency – based orientation program
• Annual performance evaluation of staff
• Best practices for the development of Job descriptions including roles and responsibilities.
• Development of Credentialing process for clinical staff including the methods for Primary Source Verification
• Development of the privileging process and assignment of privileges per specialty
• Medical staff appointment, reappointment and renewal of clinical privileges
• Development of occupational health and safety program from pre-employment screening, immunization, ongoing monitoring of employees’ health and safety
• Ongoing Professional practice evaluation of Medical Staff
• Medical Staff reappointment and renewal of Clinical Privileges
45 HOURS PER COURSE
30 hrs face time with JCI Faculty,
12 hrs self-paced learning,
3 hrs final exam
