Body language sessions

In collaboration with Oum el Nour, the Office of Student Affairs in IFFT Akkar campus organized a body language and team work session in which Ms. Rachelle Samaha spoke about the difference between verbal and nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication (NVC) between people is communication through sending and receiving wordless cues. It includes the use of visual cues such as body language (kinesics), distance (proxemics) and physical environments/appearance, of voice (paralanguage) and of touch (haptics). It can also include the use of time (chronemics) and eye contact and the actions of looking while talking and listening, blink rate (oculesics)... Verbal Communication: sometimes you have to disconnect to stay connected. Remember the old days when you had eye contact during a conversation? When everyone wasn't looking down at a device in their hands? We've become so focused on that tiny screen that we forget the big picture, the people right in front of us! She also highlighted that few realize how loud their expressions really are. Be kind with what you wordlessly say. 93/7 Rule: 93% of communication occurs through nonverbal behavior & tone; only 7% of communication takes place through the use of words.
