Borrowing Services

All active UOB students, faculty and staff can borrow materials from the library.
The student must appear in-person and present a valid UOB ID card to check out books or other materials. No student may borrow on behalf of another.
Upon the request of the circulation desk assistant, faculty and staff members might be asked to show an ID card to check out library materials.
Faculty members can authorize an assistant to borrow on their behalf by sending an email to the circulation desk.
A library user is held responsible for all library materials borrowed under his name and therefore shall not transfer or lend borrowed items to others.

Borrowing Procedure:
Once you retrieve the items you want to borrow from the stacks, head to the circulation desk to check-out the materials.

Users can renew items online, by phone or via email for one time. The second renewal should be done physically at the Library.
Note: Part timers are requested to return all their books by the end of every semester.

Reservations:
In case an item is needed and it is not available (i.e. on loan to another user), a reservation may be placed at the circulation desk or online via the library catalog.

If the item was not returned, the user will have to pay the accumulated charges plus the replacement cost of the item.
