Facilities
Over the last twenty years, the Faculty of Engineering has opened and equipped several advanced laboratories intended to consolidate and support the classroom learning experience. State-of-the-art equipment is installed in these research facilities, all of which foster positive faculty/student interaction as well as making room for professional activities.
Every laboratory is attended by experienced personnel with cutting-edge technical know-how, its equipment ranging from necessary tools to highly-sophisticated engineering experimental and application systems. Computing and information infrastructures are in place to support the instructional or scholarly activities of both faculty and students, and tutorial rooms are available for those wishing to meet in small groups to enhance their learning experience, exchange ideas and consolidate acquired skills.
The facilities we provide constitute an ideal learning environment for the realization of our educational objectives. It should be noted that safety is a top concern in relation to laboratory facilities. The infrastructure was designed with safety being a priority, and all instructors are required to review safety guidelines with students before commencing an experiment.
Students have access to laboratories and workshops during normal working hours (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), in other words, beyond their course teaching hours. Additionally, they may with departmental approval have access to the labs outside working hours.
