MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

It gives me great pleasure to announce the functionality of our newly established facility for the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Dekwaneh Campus in the University of Balamand.

Despite all the harsh challenges, and tremendous hardships, we were able to seize the opportunity to help our students, staff, and faculty members during this existential crisis.

The year 2020 was definitely a memorable year for all us: memorable in its odd events, immense unpredictability and destructive consequences. From an eye-opening revolution against corruption, to a dire financial deterioration, to a global pandemic that changed life as we know it, and ending up with a hilarious explosion that shattered the heart of Beirut on August 4th, 2020. This devastating blast has destroyed major cultural landmarks, took the lives of many innocent citizens, and displaced so much more of them. Our University had its share of this calamity, where it suffered a detrimental damage in the Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Achrafieh Campus, in addition to the damages at the ALBA Campus in Dekwaneh.

Amid all these catastrophic events, we resisted, persisted, and prevailed, as we always do. Our newly built facility at the Dekwaneh Campus, has been established in a record time in spite of all hurdles.

Finally, I would like to welcome you all to this state-of-theart facility that boldly expresses our vision of the relentless endurance in difficulties, and materializes our mission in being a leading University at the heart of the Higher Education sector in our beloved Lebanon.
