Dr. Tomeh was appointed as the first President of the University of Balamand. Dr. Tomeh was a philosopher, a diplomat, and professor at the American University of Beirut

DR. GHASSAN TUEINI
1990 - 1993

The Board then appointed as President one of its members, the leading Lebanese statesman and journalist, Mr. Ghassan Tueini. Mr. Tueini took on the management of the University in addition to his responsibilities as publisher of the well-known newspaper, al-Nahar

1993 - 2018

Dean of Arts and Scinces at AUB, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Special Advisor to the President of the Republic on Foreign Affairs are just a few positions Dr. Salem held before he joined UOB. He also founded the think tank: Lebanese Center for Policy Studies.
