The University of Balamand is a private non-profit independent institution of Higher Education founded in 1988 and licensed by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The University fosters the principles of equity, tolerance, and compassion. The University implements a rigorous policy for admission of students with total absence of discrimination on the basis of religion, gender, or special needs.
