The Health Emergency Committee in North Lebanon held a meeting to discuss the response plan for potential disasters or any aggression against Lebanon by the Israeli enemy. The University of Balamand (UOB) participated in this meeting through the Chief Operating Officer and Assistant to UOB President for Health Affairs, Dr. Youssef Bassim who represented Dr. Elias Warrak, President of UOB. The agenda included discussions on the emergency health action plan across all northern districts, addressing the potential crisis of displacement to the north in case of war, in addition to tackling the challenges posed by disasters and national crises.
Dr. Bassim presented UOB’s role in responding to any crisis, disaster, or aggression on the country. He emphasized the university's preparedness to contribute its medical expertise, student capabilities, and technological resources, offering them in service to the Health Emergency Committee." ​
