Dr. Jean Claude Assaf Judges Multidisciplinary Project Defenses at Jesus and Mary School

On May 21, 2024, Dr. Jean Claude Assaf, an esteemed Associate Professor from the Chemical Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) at the University of Balamand (UOB), served as a jury member for the Grade 11 Multidisciplinary Project (MDP) defenses at Jesus and Mary School, Kornet Chehwan. The event highlighted the impressive abilities of the students, who delivered engaging oral presentations and showcased innovation across a wide range of topics.

The Multidisciplinary projects, which included explorations into geothermal energy and geothermal power plants, showcased the students' exceptional technical skills and depth of knowledge. Dr. Assaf, alongside other jury members, evaluated the projects based on creativity, technical proficiency, and the students' ability to articulate their ideas clearly and effectively.

Dr. Assaf noted the high level of talent and innovation displayed by the students, emphasizing the importance of such projects in fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. He praised the school's commitment to multidisciplinary education, which equips students with a diverse set of skills essential for tackling real-world challenges.

Vice President for Internationalization and Engagement and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Professor Rami Abboud welcomed Jesus and Mary School ‘s invitation for FOE to be on their panel of experts and extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Assaf for his exemplary contribution as a jury member. Professor Abboud stated that this successful event underscores the collaborative effort that should exist between schools and higher educational institutions and highlighted the vital role of mentorship and guidance in nurturing young talents to be our future engineers and drive positive change.
