September 17, 2024 - Koura, North Lebanon. The University of Balamand welcomed DiaLeb - the National Diabetes Organization for an impactful awareness session in preparation for World Diabetes Day.

Dr Maha Khachab, Associate Dean for Medical Education, introduced the session titled “Comprehensive Insights on Diabetes for Future Physicians” and focused on the importance of awareness and education.

The event not only spotlighted effective prevention strategies but also shared the inspiring story behind DiaLeb. Dr. Jackie Maalouf, Vice President at International Diabetes Federation (IDF), Founder and President of DiaLeb, reminded attendees, “You are the physicians of tomorrow, and it is your duty to help your patients navigate holistic treatment.”

Through interactive discussions to over 100 medical students and insightful presentations, students were empowered to embrace their roles as future advocates.
As we approach World Diabetes Day, DiaLeb remains dedicated to enhancing awareness and education within the community, ensuring that the next generation of healthcare professionals is well-prepared to make a difference.
