On November 11, 2024, the University of Balamand’s School of Tourism and Hotel Management hosted a lecture by sustainable tourism expert and consultant Mr. Aoun Abi Aoun on Feng Shui Tourism and its role in sustainable tourism development. Aoun introduced Feng Shui Tourism as a concept that harmonizes the built environment with nature to create balanced, eco-friendly spaces that enhance the visitor experience while promoting sustainability.

With over 26 years of experience in the tourism industry, Aoun has worked across multiple countries, helping to shape innovative approaches to eco-tourism, destination marketing, and sustainable tourism practices. He is the founder and director of Event Guru, a consultancy specializing in business tourism, destination development, and tourism media production. He is also the co-founder of Lebanon With a Twist, a TV and online segment that promotes ecotourism, and the creator of Lebanon’s first national sustainable tourism academy.

In his lecture, he explained how this innovative approach can help transform tourism destinations, hotels, and cultural sites by improving both the physical and energetic qualities of these spaces. He also stressed the need for Lebanon to adopt sustainable tourism practices, highlighting the importance of preserving cultural heritage and natural resources in the face of climate change.

The event inspired students and professionals to rethink hospitality environments and spaces, providing valuable insights into how Lebanon’s tourism sector can evolve to meet the challenges of the future.
