On May 12, 2026, the Office of Student Affairs hosted their Annual Awards Ceremony; a tradition marking the end of an engaging academic year for students involved in Clubs and Societies across all UOB campuses.
The event was attended by Provost Dr. George Bahr, representing President Dr. Elias Warrak, alongside Deans, Directors, Faculty Advisors, and active students involved in campus life from all UOB campuses.
In his opening address, Dr. Bahr emphasized the university’s ongoing commitment to the development of all campuses equally, emphasized the importance of students and their experience in the growth and prosperity of any academic institution.
Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Michael Salem, described student affairs as “one of the university’s load-bearing columns”, highlighting its central role in shaping leadership, service, and perseverance for students.
Although the year was challenging especially with activities being on hiatus for significant portion of the Spring Semester due to the ongoing fragile situations in the country, student life for the academic year 2025-2026 featured a remarkable spirit of unity, teamwork, collaboration, engagement, and innovation. Community impact emerged as one of the defining themes of the year.
With more than 75 active Clubs and Societies at UOB, students successfully organized a total of 150 student-led events. These activities ranged from interactive gatherings and educational workshops to awareness campaigns, fundraising efforts, humanitarian initiatives, and friendly competitions.
During the ceremony, students and clubs were recognized through 38 awards for their campus life contributions. The awards reflected not only the achievements of their work, but also the collaborative spirit that defined campus life throughout the year.
This traditional is an annual reminder that student life extends far beyond the walls of the classroom and is rooted in the balance of academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.
