THM Hosts “Olympian Odyssey - Echoes of Hellas” Hospitality Event

The School of Tourism and Hotel Management (THM) at the University of Balamand hosted its annual hospitality event, Olympian Odyssey - Echoes of Hellas, on May 8, 2026, at the Koura campus. This academic event highlighted the achievements of UOB hospitality students and reflected their resilience, creativity, and professional growth.

The event was fully student-led, with close academic supervision and the participation of industry guests in a well-organized professional setting. Students were responsible for all operational aspects of the event, including menu planning, entertainment programming, logistics, audio and technical setup, sponsorship coordination, table design, and cost management. As part of the course requirements, students also approached and secured sponsors to support the organization of the event, providing them with valuable hands-on experience in communication, networking, and event fundraising. The University extends its sincere appreciation to all sponsors for their support and contribution to the success of the event and for encouraging students in their academic and professional journey.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management, Dr. Karim Rebeiz, stated: “Olympian Odyssey reflects the true spirit and dedication of our students. What they present today goes beyond an event; it is a testament to their potential and a glimpse of the future leaders they are becoming in the field of hospitality.” In addition, the Director of school of Tourism and Hotel Management Dr. Sarah Chehade mentioned: “Just like the Olympians, success is not measured solely by the final outcome, but by the dedication, collaboration, and determination invested along the way”.

This event provided students with a real-world learning experience while highlighting the strength, creativity, and talent of the next generation of hospitality professionals.
