Dr. Rodrigue Imad Appointed as Adjunct Researcher at Prestigious Lab-STICC (France)

Dr. Rodrigue Imad, an Associate Professor within the Computer Engineering Department at the Faculty of Engineering (FOE) at the University of Balamand (UOB), has been appointed as an Adjunct Researcher at the prestigious Lab-STICC (France) for a renewable period of two years, starting 18 April 2024. The Lab-STICC, affiliated with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), is a renowned research unit in France and Brittany, recognized for its extensive contributions to Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The Lab-STICC is divided into nine research departments bringing together 26 teams, with around 630 researchers who engage in a variety of strong scientific themes. It is a collaborative effort involving several prestigious engineering schools and research institutions in France, including IMT Atlantique, Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Brest (ENIB), Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées (ENSTA) Bretagne, Université de Bretagne Occidentale (UBO), and Université de Bretagne Sud (UBS). This multi-disciplinary approach focuses on key areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, embedded systems, robotics, and virtual/augmented reality.

Dr. Imad's new role at Lab-STICC offers him numerous opportunities, including collaboration with international researchers, access to advanced resources, and potential funding for innovative research projects. This appointment highlights the ongoing commitment of Lab-STICC to fostering cutting-edge research and technological innovation in ICT.

Vice President for Internationalization and Engagement and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Professor Rami Abboud expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Imad for his new assignment as Adjunct Researcher, acknowledging his dedication and contributions in the field of ICT through this esteemed collaboration. ​
