UOB Hosts Talk on Personal Branding and Entrepreneurial Mindset by Ayman Mechlawi

The University of Balamand’s School of Tourism and Hotel Management (THM) invited Ayman Mechlawi, an accomplished entrepreneur and business consultant, to deliver a lecture on the importance of personal branding, life skills, and developing an entrepreneurial mindset on March 20th, 2025.

Ayman shared insights from his own entrepreneurial journey, emphasizing that success is not just about technical knowledge, but also about how you present and promote yourself. He explained, "Your personal brand is your passport to success. It's not only what you know, but how you communicate it and make it visible to the world."

He also stressed the importance of life skills and soft skills, suggesting that students should begin developing them as early as high school. Ayman encouraged students to take advantage of university resources, engage in extracurricular activities, and build a strong network. “The more you involve yourself in social initiatives and volunteer work, the more you learn and grow,” he said.

Ayman also discussed the power of digital platforms in creating a professional online presence, particularly on LinkedIn, and how it can help students stand out in the job market. He advised students to focus on building a personal brand and leveraging networking strategies to position themselves as future leaders in their respective fields.

Dr. Jihane Adeimi, Director of THM, also spoke to the audience, emphasizing the critical need for students to manage their online reputation in today’s digital world. She discussed the negative effects of misinformation and how social media can easily shape public perceptions.

At the end of the session, students received personalized feedback on their LinkedIn profiles, along with a live review of their personal branding strategies, gaining valuable insights on how to enhance their visibility and impact.
